April 18, 2022 UPDATE:
THE CDC REQUIRES MASKS ON ALL PUBLIC TRANSIT SYSTEMS
On January 29, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued an Order imposing a mask requirement applicable to public transportation systems, rail, and van, bus and motorcoach service providers to mitigate the risk of COVID-19. The CDC Order implements President Biden’s Executive Order 13998, Promoting COVID-19 Safety in Domestic and International Travel, “to save lives and allow all Americans, including the millions of people employed in the transportation industry, to travel and work safely.”
Science-based measures are critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19. Mask-wearing is one of several proven life-saving measures including physical distancing, appropriate ventilation and timely testing that can reduce the transmission of COVID-19. Requiring masks will protect America’s transportation workers and passengers, help control the transmission of COVID-19, and aid in re-opening America’s economy.
In addition to the CDC order, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) anticipates issuing additional information and guidance on this topic.
The U.S. Department of Transportation has posted Frequently Asked Questions online and will continue to add to this site with additional information in the coming days.

Paratransit Service
Paratransit services will continue to operate in order to meet the needs of the community. The agency asks Paratransit riders to assist in helping to keep the community safe by prioritizing reservations. Life-sustaining reservations will take priority at this time, followed by nutrition. We ask passengers to limit the number of recreation-based trips for their safety and the safety of our operators.
Paratransit riders can call the Paratransit reservation line at 318.673.5316 to speak with a customer service representative or click here to visit the Paratransit page.
Current Preventative Methods
The agency remains committed to the safety of our riders and has implemented additional disinfecting methods when cleaning the vehicle fleet. Our regular cleaning process includes; trash removal, sweeping and mopping of vehicle floors, and wiping down passenger and driver areas with a disinfectant solution.
The agency is enhancing the daily cleaning process to include an additional disinfectant that is sprayed to deter the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). The additional cleaning process is designed to disinfect high touch areas, including all railings, seating, operator area, and fareboxes. The agency will continue to clean and disinfect all vehicles within the fleet. This includes all buses and paratransit vehicles. Each vehicle is cleaned throughout the day with a deep cleaning occurring every 24 hours. A log is maintained of all vehicles cleaned and updated daily.
